    Woo Wee Woo Waa
You know that crappy feeling when your nail has a bit hanging off, so you think (in your ineffable wisdom) that you'll tug it off, and it starts for a split second to feel kinda orgasmic, then- UH OH you're pulled the skin off under the nail and damned if it wont sting like a BITCH FROM HELL for ages. Hmmph. Germolene helped a bit.
My Nan is in hospital after having the cancer removed, it's not very nice, she is doing well though they say- very healthy for her age, although there is a chance she has had a stroke :( But apparantly it is all good news, the operation went very well, and she should be back home in a few days, so i'm trying not to worry too much.
In other news, i am on the cusp of becoming a 'proper grown up', yep, in about 3 & 1/2 hours i will be 21 :D I'm really excited haha, i have to pop into uni tomorrow just in the morning for a crappo seminar for an hour on marxist feminism [please, hold me back, i can't contain my effervescent joy]. Hehe, then it's back home to get presents, have a bit of cake then to Dean's house, yayayay. Even Amber has apparantgly bought me a prezzie! Dunno what it be yet though. I also got £200 in birthday money [along with some presents i get to open tomorrow!] wow! I have no idea what i'll spend it on :D
Annoyingly though i do have a sore chest :( Think i may have slightly hurt the muscles in my ribs, but it's ok. Also my ears hurt a bit. :P Falling apart!
Today's literary 'did you know': James Joyce's 'Ulysees' [which is a horrible, horrible novel to read, horrible- if you want to struggle with prose, read William Burroughs, he's much more illuminating, just as cryptic at times, much more involving and much more lyrical! Although that isn;t to say Ulysees isn't an amazing novel, a real epic with amazing ideas...] anyway it was banned for 15 years in this country because the novel includes toilet problems, erectile tingles, pissy meals and ends with a monologue from a masturbating woman. And it was voted the best novel ever written in 2002. What does this tell us? We are a nation of pervos? [Or masochists..? Are we sensing some resentment on my part from having to read Joyce? haha. I'll probably retract that paragraph in years to come and claim Joyce to be some sort of literary Don Quixote. At least Woolf was GAY.]
Also, am i the only one to find it a LITTLE hokey that ona degree course for feminist LITERATURE we spend half an hour of the lecture analysing, wait for it, 'Chicken Run'..? :-/ [Not that i dopn't like chicken run ;) ]

    Hamlet
hehe just watched the simpsons episode where they do a retelling of Hamlet. It was weirdly accurate! lol well....sorta!
    My favourite line;
Ophelia [played by lisa]:- "oh great, now hamlet is acting crazy; Well, noone out-crazies Ophelia! La la la!"
I reaslly like [the real] Hamlet, it's one of my fave Shakespeare plays, Ophelia's tragic suicide, Hamlet's incestuous lustings for his mother, Ghosts, Ear-poisonings, mistaken identity-murders, Yorick as poignant absent father figure, the infamous Claudius, and they all die in the end, like literally everyone who matters haha- what more could you want from theatre? ;)

    Null and Void
    I lament...
    Oh i lament...
"tears are in your eyes" say the tengo
    and i speak through ducts
    but it's shite
and half of me is swollen
while the other only serves to sway
    and ripple
    the limp flacid flesh
    wrinkled like a furred petal
"that leaves its ochre on the stone"
the stone that cracked your head
    the porcelain veined.
    There must be some form
    of baloon in my chest
    one filled with water
    a bladder
    that i'll try to pop
    and with a crack-le-le-crack
    an outpouring of constellation soup.
But instead maybe i'll keep it intact
you always drink your soup too fast anyway. And i'm always hungry.

The gross swelling of that goitre
    full of languid puss,
i realize now is your masque,
but you've none to dance with.

'In a station of the Tube'

The faces that roll down the pane,
    sweaty with rain drops, clamorous with libido;
are like pollen smears on chapped hands.

    'The Plucking'

    I'm watching the plucking
    I'm thinking of the fucking
    But the cum long dried
    While the space vacuums inside.

    'The Chaste Land'

In the beginning there was zero.
    Then noone asked for light.
    But light came.
    Then came fools.
And they wrote about lambs, and carpenters
    whores and fish.
    Because they were oh-so bored.
    And oh-so boring.
    And then it became lore.
    And in time law.
And there was some stuff in between.
But noone cares to remember that.
But now we live in a chaste land
    a dry land
    a FUCKING DRY LAND
Our master who art in our minds
    mundane be they name
thy name is light let there be said unto had begat and thou shal not and thou shalt and thou shalt not shalt and
do not put your genitals in there or
    or and
itchy and bones and cracking and wasted

    no.

    LOL
Lisa Simpson: "Which version of monopoly shall we play? We've got star wars monopoly, rasta monopoly, galilopoly and.... Edna Kraboppoly..?" Hahahaha wunderbar.
Hrmm i need more space in my room, it's overflowing wigth books and dvds and cds, perhaps such choice offerings as "wrong turn", "nine live featuring paris hilton", "punpkinhead", and........ *ahem* "frankenfish" heh, will have to go in the interest of preserving cultural delights such as "trouble everyday", "Querelle", and err... "The fluffer" lol ;)
Hrmm, what haven'#t i updated all [three] of you on lately..? Hrmm, i haven't done much, mooched around. Gah Valentines day is almost upon us, i haven't ever received a valentines card....except once from a GIRL when i was 13- fucking bitch. hmmph. lol.
But highlights such as my 21st are fast approaching- whee.

    Man's best friend
Aww, it's true what they say; dog's totally get human emotions. Amber is so damn cute, she could tell i was down so she came and curled up in a small call in the crook of my armpit and later offered to lick my face. i declined, but appreciated the offer.
I am now brooding in my room with a cup of peppermint tea, and am off to read in bed- i conclude that Stephen Dedalus cuts far better a character of adolescent alienation than Holden Caulfield. so there.

eww, George on Desperate Housewives just put SALT on his slice of MELON. :-/
    7:48 pm
    "Hi, I'm Troy Mclure...
..you may remember me from such scientific films as 'Alice doesn't live anymore', and 'mommy, what's wrong with that man's face?'"
    hehehehehe.
Ooh, paleantologists have discovered that the spinosaurus was bigger than the tyrannosauras rex... woo.
    3:39 pm
    'Attention: Venting prevents explosion.'
Hrmm, prompted by so many conversations with stupid gay floozies on msn who complain to me about 'oh i had sex with him and now he's all clingy, woe is me!' i have decided to issue a government health warning- 'DON'T PUT YOUR FUCKING PENIS IN HIM THEN'. Honestly, it's so pathetic, it bugs me, it's just that i have no sympathy for fuck-em-and-leave-em's, having been on the *ahem* receiving end of such behaviour [careful now! lol], i think it is just sad, how people can't get around the idea of sex MIGHT JUST mean something more than 'want some of my DNA?' to some people. I spose that's why my best friend is dean-who has some sense. Who also will have been with greg for 1 and a 1/2 years soon, awwwww! Anyway, i should point out that i don't have a problem with people having 'casual sex' [although it isn't for me], but they should be carteful that who they do it with won't get hurt.
Also the simpsons has provided me with my RDA of humour for the past couple of days, far too many funny moments to quote, rest assured though that my funny bone has been well and truly tickled... infer from that what ye will ;)
On monday in my lecturte on Kate Millett i was getting really pissed off at the girls beside and in front of me keeping asking me, 'who afre we studying?' .....KATE MILLET. then later, when lecturer says 'betty friedan was one of Millett's contemporaries and she influenced Millett in these ways' to which the girls said - 'oh is this abotu betty friedan?' ACK! then they asked again later when we studied Kate Millett's book 'i thought this was about Simone de Beauvoir'. Good. Fucking. God. We need to cull a good percentage of the population. preferably those 'female' things. Hehe, i point out that that is a joke. Many females are valuable members of our society- 'so next time you want to engage with humanity, try a woman, they're different! and good for you too!' Also some girls behind me were talking about the blasphemy of such terrible acts as 'rock music-["because to me it's like a bit satanic innit?"]' and 'gays'. Grr. Thank god most people at my uni seem to be pretty liberal. And i sorta take offence to the idea that to accept a same-sex partnership you have to be 'liberal'. it doesn't make sense to me how one can engender humans with some sort of shining difference that segregates them into groups to which they must meet and multiply heterogenously, love is love, and people is people is people [gerturde stein would be proud.] hehehe.
haha i must seem like im in a bad mood from this! im not though, im in good spirits, just felt like having a bitch/rant/vent/ramble, and jolly good it felt too.

"The greatest thing you will ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return"
Hehe, i just finished watching 'Moulin Rouge' on Channel 4; oh dear me the ending made me cry again [second time i've seen it], i know it's sooooo flambouyant and opulent, but i can't help liking it and well yes, the tears are proof of the emotional pull it has :P
The only film i have ever seen to have a similar romantic element involving two males is 'Bent'- a very good film, made me cry too- do wee see a pattern here!? haha.
I searched a google image search just for 'love' it wasn't quite as depressing as i expected [no porn] but certainly threw up some odd results... haha.
And no i won't be embarassed for being such a romantic fool :P
I'm reading James Joyce's 'A portrait of the artist as a young man'- i SWEAR there is some homoeroticism in it, some of the boys in the boarding school [already it's suspect!!!] were beaten for being found 'smugging' [what the fuck is that!?]

Who will survive, and what will be left of them!?!?!?!?!11111
Answer- The girl does, and she has all her bits intact, but she's a bit fucked up inside. Hehe, woo chainsaw massacre is on tv on 4, haha; seminal and all that. I think leatherface is so scary because Gunnar Hannsen looks like someone's domineering/bonkers mother on the rampage... maybe that's just me? :-/ The remake was uber nastiness- the dvd has a deleted scene where you [quite graphically] see some unfortunate chap getting the chainsaw between his legs throwing out all sorts of offal and willy-bits. gah.
Hrmmm today was very, very lazy, i got up at 2, then had a nap from 5 til 7 hehe. mmmm sleep. and the rest of the time was mostly spent all snuggled up and watching the simpsons, or snuggled up in my duvet with my wee dog curled up in my arms :) Bliss i do think.
I also just bought every episode ever aired of the Simpsons on ebay for £16... erm naughty me? ;) Popular me perhaps hehehehe.
In other news, i can almost, sorta play Bright Eyes' 'Something Vague' on guitar- it's quite simple hehe.
Hehe, my birthday is only erm...like 17 days away! yaaaaay! still not a clued what i'm gonna do. Would be nice if people organised it for me, like they did for Chris and Dean haha.
Ho hum, i feel a bit odd, like there's something worrying me but i think everything is ok... lol

Err same thing as last post
Principal Skinner '...I rushed to the lavatory to apply my camouflage makeup' *he is wearing heavy eyeshadow and and blusher* 'BLAST! i took mother's makeup!'
Ok, ok i'll stop now :P i cannae help it- it's a jolly good romp this comedy malarky ;)
    10:44 pm
1st quote from simpsons season 7 to make me laugh:
"Burns was rushed straight to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead... then he was rushed to a better hospital where they upgraded his situation to 'alive'" hee hee
    10:18 pm
    "Like melons...but sweeter" @_@
The quote refers to, apprantly, what a 7 year old girl said about being breastfed [at the age of 7] ona doc on channel 4 last night, as i was told today by someone in a lecture. Well, this week has been nice so far, uni was good monday and tuesday, nothing too stressful, fun lectures. Then yesterday i went to Dean's house, which was looooovely, we had a good chat and giggle, played guitars, playfighted, teased and gossiped haha. Also we had a good debate with Gareth about how films should show explicit nudity/sex if they show any at all. Today i had new theatre writing which was fun, and riotous as usual ;) Lots of rude talk, including a performance art piece on video involving a double-ended dildo... oh don't you WISH you did my course ;)!
Also, i see there is a new series of brat camp- but it's an all GIRL camp, now where is the bloody fun in that!?
Also, i caved and got Simpsons series 7, which i am about to partake of.

    The 'C' Word
Haha i'm learning all about the history of the word 'cunt' from germaine greer on BBC2. Right on!
Lol, also i have a right sniffly/painful nose. hmmph :(
Also on the way back from uni the bus driver was crazy! This guy asked him to open the doors so we could all get on- coz it was cold, and he let him pay and the4n sit down- then the driver randomly commanded that this guy vacate the bus immediately or he would call the police-to which the guy was, understandably, incredulous- and the driver called the police- and noone could get on the bus... :-/
    My lecturer today, on virginia woolf's short story 'kew gardens';
'At first we are flying around then we enter Simon'- i'm so immature-hence this made me snigger. hehe.
Amusing [unrelated, superfluous] quote from American Dad last night- 'Yes, i got that; i'm unrapeable- not STUPID.'
Recently i have been playing guitar a fair bit- i may well put in the effort to actually get back on track with learning it... but then there's the whole relaxing and sleepy laziness that gets in the way... plus, not unlike Fry in futurama i seem to have 'stupid hands'. lol.
i am feeling a little melancholy tonight, i think i shall snuggle up with my 3 pillows in bed tonight after taking a lemsip.

I'm in the library at uni between lectures- geeeuuuurgh i feel sick- i had a red bull on the way in and it made me all jittery in my lecture lol. Also last night i was innocently cutting a roll and skewered my hand with the knife. ouch! It's ok though :P
Anywho, am pissed off about the Woolf book that was wrong, and in an oddly paranoid mood- thinking people are talking about me- i'm always like that, it's like some inverted form of narcissism! ;) but i get worried that i have something weird stuck to my face that i hadn't noticed and people are enjoying at my expense! lol
My nan has gone into hospital today to have the operation to remove her cancer i think- it's not nice, she's 90 and so it's a risky operation and stuff, so i'm kinda feeling weird about it. My mum decided that she would try to keep me out of the loop with her illness, so as to spare me extra stress this year [unlike last year] but i'm still worried. Plus, on the way here dean txted me something that made me feel kind of glum- maybe i just took it the wrong way though.
I may now peruse the delights of the on campus cafe or the restaurant but i'm not really hungry. I'm real tired and am detained here until 5 lol.
In other news i have decided i very much like swearing. Expletives are your friends. USE THEM WISELY MY CHILD.
    ahem.
Sorry, this is a moody post! As a quick summary of the weekend, Poptastic was awesomely awesome and kicks popstarz's ass into next week! Good, good fun. Tom was coolness, very sweet and fun, cool housemates and was really nice to see him. i enjoyed it. Much booze too. Sorry, i cannae write more as i am getting dirty looks from students who probably actually have uni work to do on this machine... those kerazeeee young 'uns...

Also i'm pissed off that the £20 virginia woolf essays book i got doesnt have the ONE essay im supposed to read for tiomorrow in it ;) buttered bollocks :| lol.
Also got Sophie Calle's 'exquisite pain'- seems like a reeeeally funky book :D
Ah well, sorry for brevity, am sleepified! Goodnight to the livejournal swathes!

ARRGH i feel siiiiiiick. I'm in my room huddled up in comfy pyjama type top and boxers with amber snoozing on my bed. Maybe i should eat something... haha. anyway, i'll do a proper update soon, i'm a bit knackered right now. Have had a fun weekend though- was much good to see Tom again.
